The Program Committee has accepted another nutsnbolts talk. Alexey Ivanov will discuss evaluation of TCP BBRv2 on the Dropbox Edge Network. Alexey will dissect BBR design principles and discuss whether the intended theoretical goals match real world results. He will then dig into the BBRv2 design and discuss the intended improvements over BBRv1. Eventually, using practical examples, compare the behaviors of BBRv2 vs BBRv1 vs CUBIC as applied to an edge network. 0x14: XDP and the cloud: Using XDP on hosts and VMs

David Ahern will give a tutorial on integrating XDP in a cloud deployment with VMs and containers. The tutorial will interactive with source dissection and live demos (with the source code available later from github). David will look at the current state of XDP through the lens of cloud hosting, discussing the advantages, trade-offs, and limitations of using XDP on the host with the v5.4 kernel (latest LTS). This tutorial covers: - configuration of the host, - walks through an L2 forwarding program, - management of the fdb and device maps using bpftool, - simple per-VM/container ACL via eBPF, - XDP forwarding in the egress path, and - using XDP in VMs running on the host. 0x14: updates on CFS and registration

Hi, Two announcements: 1) CFS closed last night. We are not re-opening. The PC is dilligently reviewing the large number of very exciting submissions we have received. Given the amount of submissions - we are moving the final accept/reject decisions from the 20th Jan to 1st of February. If you submitted and dont get a a response or feedback by the 20th, please bear with us. 2) We are trialing new registration software. Our original plan was to open up registration by the 10th of January. The new setup is still undergoing testing. We plan to open it up as soon as possible and will update you. As you all know - we _never_ close our registration. So fear not that there is a spot for you. cheers, jamal

The Program Committee has accepted the first nutsnbolts talk. In this talk, Guohan Lu and Matty Kadosh are going to introduce SONiC, a Linux based open source NOS (https://azure.github.io/SONiC/). They will discuss the SONiC architecture, its integration with FRR and kernel routing stack and the current status of SONiC. They will go over some of the challenges they faced and how they resolved them and then further discuss outstanding issues in Linux Networking that the SONiC community is still facing. More importantly, the SONiC community will take this opportunity to provide feedback to the Linux Networking community as well as solicit feedback on outstanding challenges.
